how to get healthy nails after acrylics
Updated: Mar 17
After acrylics everyone question is : How to get healthy nails after acrylics ?
I love to have pretty nails! I started doing acrylics and only did them for a year. However, the damage after just a year was so bad.
I love and miss my long, pretty, almond shaped nails. It was a plus that they would also last a month. Most girls love to get their nails done, to sit there relaxed, be pampered, go with a friend and catch up with them. I can not lie as much as I love the final product of having my nails look pretty and polish I hate actually getting them done. I do not like sitting there getting them done. I feel like I could be doing other thing, using my time to be more efficient or spending that time with Lola haha... I don't know maybe that is just me?
... ya it's probably just me who thinks like that. Oh well...
I decided to stop acrylic nails
1. I hated sitting there
2. It was costing a lot of money. $30-80 a month on nails, that adds up!
3. My nails were not healthy
Now I just regular nails polish, I also like to switch my nail colours up all the time. Some nail inspiration:
Now there are better, healthy options for your nails instead of acrylic nails there are:
1.Gel Nail Extensions: similar to acrylics, but without any of the toxic methyl methacrylate
2. Fiberglass Nails: a thin mesh strip with tiny glass fibers in it to your nail and secure it with clear glue to create a hard surface
3. Dip Powder Nails: a good option if you’re looking for something more than a gel manicure, but aren’t ready to commit to fake nails
However, because of all my reasons in which I did not want to get my nails done again I started to look for products to make my nails healthy. I search, tried so many brands. Finally I did my research, read the review and tried out NAILSINC London .
There product the NAILSINC London Super Food Base Coat is what I use. This product has kale extract- which I never thought would benefit my nails but did!
"This NailKale Superfood Base Coat is a powerful nail treatment that offers keratin hardening and activation to stimulate nail growth hydration, anti-breakage and anti-splitting protection, and deep nourishment. Dermatologically tested and boasting added superfood extracts of aloe vera, lemon, ginseng, pomegranate and grape to deeply nourish, smooth and brighten the nails. The formula is also enriched with vitamins A, C, E, F and H for added nourishment and protection against breakage and splitting."
There are also other benefits of this product: it is fast drying, long wear, cruelty free and vegan.
My Nail Care Routine:
I do my nails every week. When I first started using this product I would apply it two times a week with no nail polish on top for about a month. Then I started using it as a base coat. You do not have to just use the NAILSINC London on it's own for a month like I did, you can apply nail polish on top. I only did that for a month because I wanted to apply a fresh coat two times a week to see if the product would actually do what it advertises, which it does!
Now I use this product every time I do my nails as maintenance to keep my nails strong and healthy.
I also started to take iron pills after using this nail treatment for three months. Iron really helps in addition with the NAILSINC London Super Food Base Coat.
I know iron pills are hard on your stomach and it is hard to find one that works for you but keep testing them out! I use an over the counter one.
I was surprised to find that Sephora does not carry the NAILSINC London Super Food Base Coat anymore!
I have sourced a few places that you will be able to find the product, however it is always out of stock. So if it is by chance in stock get it!
