montreal girl meets toronto(ish) girl

While I was in Montreal I meet up with my aunt's friend. She's a 30yr old single woman, who has had her fair share of reallyyy bad relationships.

She since then goes to therapy, is self-sufficient, practices self care, has an amazing group of people around her . We clicked so well.

We discussed how therapy really helps you, more so then talking to a friend you get an impartial view on what you are going through and validation that your allowed to feel what you are feeling.  I am a huge advocate of therapy. It helps with the self care process to take that time in your busy schedule to reflect so you do not misdirect anger.  Therapy is also great because it helps you to see patterns in your life and to prevent you from repeating similar situations - we all know that similar situations will arise in your life until you learn the lesson and chose not to repeat it.

We also spoke about how we have got to a place were we are comfortable being single, enjoying life, doing things for ourselves, going out by ourselves. I believe going through therapy has helped us to get to this point. Along with dating ourselves- doing things alone, eating out alone, figuring out what feeds our souls, realizing what we need etc...   I also believe that this is a great way to find out who you are.

There is so much to be said for being able to be alone and truly knowing your self. I believe it helps you to make better choices in the future in all aspects of your life because you have learned what you need to be fulfilled.

We realized that we are however worried that we are too comfortable being single -but that's okay! I have noticed that before I practiced self care etc... I was attracting the wrong types of guys and so was she. Now that we are on a different level, were we have gone through major life struggles and came out better the type of person that we will attract will be on the same level .Which is hard to find lol ,but worth the wait because you don't want to settle and repeat a toxic cycle .

We also discussed that it's okay to cut people out of your life ! No matter how long you have known them or remember who they used to be. Some people change for the worse, or don't have the same ambition to be better . And that's okay we  are all on our own path. But if they are bringing you down, you don't want to be tied down, cut them off because they will drown you.

So do not feel bad for making major life changes if it is to better yourself, your future and protect your inner peace.

All in all, it was such an amazing chat! To find a strong single woman who left Mississauga to move to Montreal- she has an amazing home, career, and most importantly an amazing mindset and heart
